Aftercare Guidance
At The Sage Room, your wellbeing is our top priority. To help you get the most from your treatment and continue feeling your best, please take a few moments to read through our aftercare advice.
Swedish Body Massage
Following your massage, your body will continue to respond as circulation improves and muscle tension releases. To enhance these effects and promote recovery:

-
Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help flush out toxins and keep muscles hydrated.
-
Rest and relax: Avoid strenuous exercise or heavy lifting for the next 24 hours to give your body time to rebalance.
-
Avoid alcohol and caffeine: These can dehydrate the body and reduce the full benefits of your massage.
-
Keep warm: Gentle warmth can help maintain muscle relaxation — avoid sudden exposure to cold temperatures.
-
Take it easy: You may feel slightly tired or light-headed — this is perfectly normal and will pass as your body adjusts.
-
Soothing bath option: A warm bath (not hot) with Epsom or mineral salts can extend the feeling of relaxation.
It’s normal to experience slight muscle tenderness for up to 24–48 hours after your massage, especially if deeper pressure was used.

Facial - Coming Soon!
After your facial, your skin is freshly cleansed, exfoliated, and nourished. To protect and maintain your glow:

-
Avoid touching your face: This helps prevent bacteria transfer to clean, open pores.
-
Avoid makeup: Where possible, let your skin breathe for 12–24 hours after your treatment.
-
Skip heat and sun exposure: Avoid saunas, steam rooms, sunbathing, and hot showers for 24 hours.
-
Use gentle products: Avoid exfoliants, acids, or retinol-based skincare for 2–3 days unless advised.
-
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin plump and radiant.
-
Follow your therapist’s recommendations: Maintain results by using suitable homecare products for your skin type.
You may experience a slight flush or mild sensitivity immediately after your facial — this is normal and should settle within a few hours.
